No Bridge Possible!

It has become increasingly clear to me over the last several years that the idea of a bridge between Red and Blue, North and South, Progressives and Conservatives is utterly hopeless. That assumes one would want such a bridge in the first place. And with Bukowski’s pronouncement in mind, “Oh hatred… the only thing that lasts!” let’s agree at least to go our seperate ways and be grateful the American experiment lasted as long as it did. Long enough to see Man on the Moon and an African American as President in a country where slavery was once practiced. Turn DC into one big museum and establish new capitols for Red and Blue America. And let’s do it before someone gets hurt.
