Altruism's useful idiot...
Times Square Bomber throws his life away at 30… and for nothing. Altruism, the philosophy of sacrifice, suffering and blood. To sacrifice ones life for a cause above ones self, when the entity representing that cause is nonexistent, is irrational. The worst punishment for him is his moment of realization and understanding that the philosophy he embraced took his freedom and liberty forever,...

War Between the Cultures! →
Pro Confederates and Pro Unionists have irreconcilable differences and need to get a divorce. Pat’s article is proof of it. When will Red and Blue State cultures see the writing on the walls and end the madness? When?

Night of the Living Dumb!
Sarah Palin’s single digit IQ was on full display at the SRLC in New Orleans as it is anytime she pontificates her banal political philosophy. Consisting almost entirely on the premiss of Better Government Through Intolerance, the half-baked Alaskan Governor gave the audience her predictable load of political dung with “Don’t Retreat, Reload” serving as Red-State-Meat for...

No Bridge Possible! →
It has become increasingly clear to me over the last several years that the idea of a bridge between Red and Blue, North and South, Progressives and Conservatives is utterly hopeless. That assumes one would want such a bridge in the first place. And with Bukowski’s pronouncement in mind, “Oh hatred… the only thing that lasts!” let’s agree at least to go our seperate...

Obama & Reagan? →
Hillary criticized Obama when he suggested that in the 80’s the Republican party had the new ideas and that he had read up on Reagan’s presidency. We all know how the primary and general election turned out. Obama is willing to march to his own inner drummer… and as a drummer myself… I like that.

I look forward to reading Jerry’s new book as I had the chance to meet him out in LA on Rodeo Drive just a week ago.

Best Documentary!
In The Shadow Of The Moon has to be the most inspiring film I’ve ever seen. If you weren’t around in those days, you really missed something. Not just the moon-landing itself, but the the character of the country at the time. So many things were changing in the culture and to me, this was the county’s high water mark. Everything the United States was about culminated in Apollo....

Moore Capitalism
I think Michael Moore’s films are funny as hell. I first saw him at the “Battle in Seattle” when I lived there in 99. But this idea that Capitalism is the problem or “Better Living Through Socialism” is misguided. The answer is MORE freedom for the individual even when he’s doing things you don’t like, so long as while he’s doing those things, he respects the legitimate rights of other...

Brain Differences →
Host Ian Punnett discussed how the male brain is a lean, mean, problem-solving machine and how a man’s reality is fundamentally different from a woman’s.
The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy you...
